Sara Culpepper, Principal Counselor and Teletherapy Provider, loves helping women and teen girls improve their relationships with themselves, internalize that their worth is not connected to their appearance, and express their genuine nature. She graduated with an undergraduate degree from the school of business at East Carolina University with a concentration in finance in 2001. After working in financial services for many years, Sara returned to ECU and received a Master of Science (MS) in Substance Abuse and Clinical Counseling. She is designated as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) as conferred by the North Carolina Board of Licensed Professional Counselors. She is also a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS). Prior to opening Peri Counseling, Sara worked with clients diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illnesses, many of them suffering from borderline personality disorder and/or eating disorders. In addition to helping women and teens learn to successfully regulate their emotions, she encourages women to change their attitudes about food and bodies. Sara helps women understand that eating disorders and emotional dysregulation are often due to societal pressures. She enjoys providing education regarding intuitive eating, health at every size, and feminism. Sara is a mom to two boys and two girls.
